Pre-Care Instructions

• WE CANNOT PERFORM SERVICES ON WOMEN WHO ARE PREGNANT OR NURSING.
• People who have been taking Accutane should wait at least 6 months before booking permanent makeup services.
• Two weeks prior to your appointment stop using any skin thinners (Vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation) on the brow area. 
• DO NOT USE RETIN-A or tretinoin or retinols for a minimum of 2 weeks! Recommend 4 weeks prior to procedure. 
• Do not work out on the day of your procedure.
• Any waxing or brow shaping should be done at least 2 days before.
• If you tint your brows, tint it at least one week prior to the procedure.
• Cosmetic Botox or fillers should be done 3 weeks prior or 2 weeks after.
• DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any  OTC blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin) 48 hours before your procedure. This can cause excess bleeding and may affect your results.
• You may come in with how you normally draw in your brows. They will be cleaned and shaped during treatment.
• Please send a clear and current photo of your brows and your “brow goals” to beyoucosmetictattoo@gmail.com or through the form on our "Contact" tab at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.  
• You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle.
• We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the brow area.
• Stop taking Fish Oil or any Rx blood thinners (with doctor approval) 7 days before appointment.

It is essential that you follow these instructions after your Permanent Brows Session:

• DAY 1 (Day of treatment): 30 minutes after treatment, gently clean the area with the provided STERILE WATER WIPE to avoid build-up of blood/lymph on the area. 30 minutes after that, gently clean the area again with another provided STERILE WATER WIPE. Before going to bed, clean the area one final time with the last provided STERILE WATER WIPE and apply a thin layer of ointment with a cotton swab.
  
• DAYS 2 - 14: Wash brows with a gentle cleanser (Cetaphil - provided - Please notify us if you have an allergy to Cetaphil so that we can find something different for you to use) twice a day, morning & night. No more than the size of a pea on each brow should be necessary. Be gentle. Wash for 1 minute & rinse with cool water. Pat dry & apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab.
• Please Note: Brows should not appear greasy, glossy or shiny after applying the ointment. If they do, you used too much. Do not use aggressive movement/manipulation of the skin – be gentle. Make sure your hands are clean before touching your brows.

THE FOLLOWING MUST BE AVOIDED FOR 10 DAYS POST-PROCEDURE:

• Sweating
• Exercising
• Practicing sports
• Swimming
• Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
• Sun tanning or salon tanning
• Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on the face or neck
• Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning, such as garage or basement cleaning, where there is a lot of airborne debris – now is not the time (plus, it's a good excuse to procrastinate on it!)!
• Smoking
• Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds
• Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles
• Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care with a cotton swab
• DO NOT Pick, peel, or scratch of the brow area. You will cause scarring of the area or removal of the pigment if you pick or peel scabs. (Be You will NOT fix these, or any other areas, at no charge.)
• DO NOT use any other ointments, antibiotic creams or gels, or vitamin creams over the brow area. It will draw out the pigment. Only use the ointment that has been provided to you in your aftercare kit.
• DO NOT allow any water to touch the brows with the exception of the light amount of water used to clean the area! No shower stream over brows. Two disposable face shields are provided in the after-care kit in case this is difficult for you. You can also apply a thick layer of ointment or Aquaphor to protect your eyebrows from moisture in the shower. Remove the thick layer of ointment gently after the shower. Wash face CAREFULLY with a washcloth or cleansing wipes, avoiding the brow area.
• PLEASE NOTE: Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post-brow procedure. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.

It is ALWAYS advised to speak with a health care professional if you are concerned about possible infections of your new powder brows.

In the event you feel like you may have an infection in your brows, please look out for these signs. 

-Redness

-Swelling

-Discharge 

-Smell

-Crusting

-Itchiness

Keeping in mind that minimal temporary redness and itchiness may occur, any excessive discomfort should not occur. If you notice any of the above signs & symptoms, please seek medical attention.
